Florida landed six of the top 10 including 2015’s top winner Siesta Beach coming in at No. 3, followed by St. Pete Beach at No. 4, Pensacola Beach at No. 7, St. Augustine Beach at No. 9 and Panama City Beach at No. 10. Also in the top 25 were four more Florida beaches: Henderson Beach State Park in Destin, Fort Myers Beach, Las Olas Beach in Fort Lauderdale and Navarre Beach in the Panhandle.
Florida beaches fare well in the reader rankings each year, which are based on both the quantity and quality of reviews on the travel website. Higher marks went to the Gulf Coast beaches of Florida with only St. Augustine and Fort Lauderdale getting props for Florida’s East Coast.
Clearwater Beach had review after review extolling its length of beach, which is 2 1/2 miles of what TripAdvisor calls “powder sand and calm, shallow water.”
Located adjacent to the Beach Walk Promenade and Pier 60 with oodles of shopping and dining, the area is not lacking for entertainment while many reviews pointed out how it had something for all ages of beachgoer as well as how you can walk just a little bit to get away to find some solitude.
Not only ranked No. 1 in the U.S., Clearwater Beach’s reviews placed it in the top 25 in the world, coming in at No. 20. The top beach in the world was Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos south of the Bahamas.
